World Trade Center Series

Inspired by my trip to the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan, I created a series of drawings illustrating the rebirth of the World Trade Center. I’ve always been fascinated by the juxtaposition of nature and man-made structures; in this series, the harmony between the environment and the city reflects the balance achieved between remembrance and reverence. The works transition from the sky to ground level, as the focus shifts from the buildings to the people experiencing the WTC. Detailing the gathering of visitors, artistic efforts, and process of rebuilding, I hope my work conveys the significance of people coming together to establish a community even stronger than before.
